What a great machine. Once you dial it in and the things you can do with it. It works great. I don't know what else to say except you set it up. It comes on it steams fantastic and the ease is so great

R58 - 10 years and going strong!
I bought my R58 from SCG about 10 years ago and absolutely LOVE the machine! If you're debating purchasing the R58 versus the Silvia, and if you like milk based drinks, I would suggest the Rocket since it has the dual boilers. The E61 brew head is always ready and never needs a cooling flush. You can't go wrong with the R58 and SCG has been fantastic to work with! Excellent customer service!

The Rocket wins out
We've been super happy with the Rocket. The machine is very well made and we like being able to set a schedule so it is all warmed up and ready-to-go when we want it to be.

R Fifty Eight is Great and worth the price of admission.
I am a fairly experienced user as I owned a Rocket Apparamento machine for the previous 4 years and am a daily user. The R58 is a nice step up that gives me more precision and control of my shots. But I would encourage the new user none of this is Rocket Science (see what I did there?)... You can screw up a ton and figure it out. The most important thing is to just know how to keep your machine clean while your are learning. It also seems to heat up quicker and is a much quieter machine given the rotary pump vs the vibratory pump in the Appartamento. The machine is a little taller and I do not have it plumbed in and have no problem refilling it under my cabinet... because I use a DEDICATED plant waterer with a long, skinny spout. Otherwise, it would not work very well or would be hard to fill up with water because who wants to have to move these heavy machines around? No one - that's who. My daughters are 20-something year old coffee snobs (my fault) and they both say the lattes I make them are "8-dollar drinks all day long". I will take that as a compliment

Espresso Novice
I was a complete novice when it came to espresso when I purchased the Rocket R58. The FedEx driver got it as far as the front yard. At 90 lb shipping weight it was fun getting it in the house. The sales person told me it would probably take me a bag of coffee to dial everything in and she was correct. Very happy with the purchase and the lattes and Americanos I have made were excellent. Excited about sharing coffee drinks with all the kids at Christmas.
